How we earn a “source-checked” label

Can I Park My RV? publishes by topic, not by page count. A city guide is complete only when it states what we confirmed, what remains conditional and what the reviewed sources do not answer.

Authorship and responsibility

Guides are published by the Can I Park My RV? Research Desk, the editorial identity of this independent site. We use organization authorship because no individual attorney or city official writes or approves these pages. We do not invent expert biographies, legal credentials or first-hand municipal authority.

The site is not a law firm, government office, homeowners association or permit service. No guide is legal advice or an address-level approval.

Publication standard

Primary sources

Claims must trace to enacted municipal code, an official city page, a permit program, an official map or another government publication.

Four separate questions

Every city is checked for private storage, public-street parking, loading or maintenance, and sleeping or habitation. Silence is labeled unresolved.

Conditions stay attached

Duration, dimensions, permits, surfaces, screening, jurisdiction and parcel-specific limits remain with the answer.

Visible provenance

Each guide shows a review date, links to the official material used and identifies the Can I Park My RV? Research Desk.

Source hierarchy

  1. Current enacted code or ordinance. This controls when it directly answers the question.
  2. Current official permit, planning or code-enforcement page. This explains process, fees, maps and how the city applies the rule.

Corrections and updates

Material corrections are made in place and the page’s “last reviewed” date is updated only when the cited municipal sources are actually checked. Styling, spelling or layout edits alone do not justify a new source-review date.

This site does not yet operate a public corrections inbox or submission form. We will not pretend otherwise. Until one is available, use the official contact route shown on each city guide to confirm a live rule. A future corrections channel will be added here before we invite submissions.

How future city coverage is prioritized

New guides are selected where the jurisdiction has accessible primary sources and the four-part rule can be researched without creating a thin page. A usable research request needs the exact incorporated city—not only a mailing address—plus the parking location, vehicle type, dimensions, duration and whether anyone will sleep in it.

We do not publish dozens of near-duplicate pages from a template. If an official source does not answer a layer, the guide records that gap instead of filling it with generic advice.

Commercial independence

At launch, the site has no paid placements, sponsored rankings or affiliate relationships. Nearby-storage links are convenience links to a map search, not endorsements. If commercial relationships are introduced later, they will be disclosed on the relevant page and will not change a municipal-rule verdict.
